Review: Excellent price per-powerport, lots of great unexpected extras - This is an excellent powerpole distribution center - the price per port is good, and the construction quality is great. Opening the box is quite the surprise, as a double set of fuses are provided, a fuse puller, 3M dual-lock mounts, and most surprising of all - a full set of powerpole connectors (30A and their housings) that you can use to terminate some connections of your own to plug in to the unit, and some very nice connector covers. I have one of "those other brands" (A West Mountain Radio unit) and it's great as well, but this unit is less expensive per-port, and very on-par build-quality wise. I've also built my own from a ham local to my area (K9JEB), and while that was a fun soldering project and it works well, I value my time enough to buy more of these Windcamp units in the future, and I can't help but suggest the same to my friends. I would have giving this a 5-star rating if I only received the distribution board and the required fuses, but the extras also make me feel good about supporting the maker, amateur radio operator BD7MYM. **Q: Is there any reason why the description particularly mentions elecraft and flexradio?  are these not "standard" powerpole connectors?**
A: They are standard PowerPole TYPE connectors, but are not genuine PowerPole connectors.  That said, they work just fine with the genuine PP connectors.  I have mine hooked to a Yaesu 857D radio, an MFJ tuner, etc. Great little alternative to the more popular - and more expensive - version sold by a different manufacturer.

**Q: is there a led showing when power is on? any les for blown fuses?**
A: There is not an led indicator when the power bar is energized.  Only blown fuse indicator is connected device does not work unless the device has power indicator

**Q: how can this be mounted? Does it have any feet? I am considering to mount it on a telescope.**
A: The nicely made unit does not have feet - it does have two roughly 3/8 inch wide rubber pads attached at the ends of it's flat bottom.  The unit comes with two 1 x 1.75 inch sets of self adhesive 3M Dual Lock strips and the bottom is marked where these can be applied.  The unit is quite light and if not subject to weather it appears the Dual Lock strips should hold it in place.  Very impressed with the quality of this unit.

**Q: Can i run power from a 110v ac to 12v dc converter plugged into the wall and distribute power to multiple motorized blinds?**
A: Although Carlos and Carl have made very good comments, the original question does not contain enough information to determine the correct answer(s). The Windcamp Distribution block, which I have sitting in front of me, is designed to Distribute UP to 45 Amps of 12 volt electricity (the input) to up to 7 individually fused circuits(the loads). Secondly, it is designed to use Anderson Power Pole connectors, which you may have to install to all the wire ends, which means buying the connectors and the crimper ($65+) minimum, just to be able to start that process. Coming back to the electrical side, we need to know what the current (amp) draw/load is for each blind set he wants to operate at the same time, or if this is a single blind operation.Then we need to know what is the output of the 12 volt invertor/power supply in amps or watts, so we can see if he has enough current to do the job. Then the wire size comes into play based on that amp/current draw per blind set and how many used at once. All this is available knowledge at many electrical web sites, specifically the Low Voltage type sites.My suggestion is for the caller to contact a Low Voltage specialty contractor in there area or a real electrician before continuing and possibly causing damage to the home.Dale, N0pey, ham radio operator and happy to help.

This is an excellent powerpole distribution center - the price per port is good, and the construction quality is great. Opening the box is quite the surprise, as a double set of fuses are provided, a fuse puller, 3M dual-lock mounts, and most surprising of all - a full set of powerpole connectors (30A and their housings) that you can use to terminate some connections of your own to plug in to the unit, and some very nice connector covers. I have one of "those other brands" (A West Mountain Radio unit) and it's great as well, but this unit is less expensive per-port, and very on-par build-quality wise. I've also built my own from a ham local to my area (K9JEB), and while that was a fun soldering project and it works well, I value my time enough to buy more of these Windcamp units in the future, and I can't help but suggest the same to my friends. Good product at a fair price. This is the second one of these power splitters that I have purchased and they work great.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nicely made, but may be overrated for power capacity

The unit is nicely built and comes with Power Pole-compatible connectors and cable boots, which is nice if you don't have a collection of PP connectors. It also comes with fuses, including a few extra. As has been pointed out by others however, they only supply a couple of 5A and 10A fuses and the rest are up to 40A fuses. That would be fine if the unit could handle that power, but I opened up the unit and it does not use a solid common copper distribution block, as do more expensive power distribution blocks. Everything is connected through a simple circuit board, which means one has to be skeptical that this unit is suitable for multiple circuits that require 40A fuses! Further, unlike the name brand power distribution blocks common in the Ham radio and astrophotography fields, this unit is just a set of connectors attached through a circuit board, there are no RFI capacitors on each circuit to prevent RFI, again, as does the higher priced, more popular brand. All that said, it appears to be well made and comes with useful accessories. I would not recommend this for high power applications or in RFI-sensitive applications, but for distributing power to a number of low power items, I think it will work well. In my case, it's being used as a distribution block for an astrophotography imaging set up, so a fan, cooled camera, USB block, telescope mount, light panel, etc.
