Review: Impulse Purchase of a Fantastic Chef Knife from a Novice Chef - The other reviews here appear to be from seasoned home chefs or professionals. This review is for the home chefs out there who aspire to have better equipment and something awesome! I want you to read and see feedback from a guy who is just learning how to cook in the past year. So picture this. It's late at night, I am fed up with my old knife set while trying to prepare some pork loin I had just served 2 hours prior. Go shopping on desertcart and then *CLICK*, That is how I found this Zelite Infinity 8" Chef Knife pictured here. Now granted, I am no chef but I do know my way around sharp things at work. For example, I know there is a huge quality difference between stamped and forged cutlery, hence this purchase. The first thing I noted when the box arrived was how big it was. It comes in a very nice glossy box that has a magnetic snap (I'm a sucker for nice packaging!) and holds the chef knife securely in place. The first thing you notice is that the chef knife feels very good to hold in one's hand and feels well balanced. The edge is razor sharp right out of the box (Protip: don't test it with your thumb!) and ready for action. Immediately I put it to work, first slicing some strawberries effortlessly. I then tested it on some frozen bison burgers I found left over in the fridge for > 2 years (not mine, blame the wife!) and it made short work of those. I have since prepared some nice ribeye steaks and sausage jambalaya with it. I noted someone else has already left some photos in their review. I was impressed enough that I have added a short video to the review for you all to see the knife in action yourself. Compared to my previous "Big-Box Store" chef knife, there is no contest. Watch the video and make your own judgement! Following up on the product claims, it really does look like a classy knife and my neighbor down the street (who *is* a real chef at a local upscale restaurant chain) gave a thumbs up to my purchase when she saw it. It's rust-resistant and can verify that it is indeed non-stick, which was a sticking point with my previous chef knife and a nice perk when slicing sausage. I have only used two other *real* chef knives previously over the past year, a Cutco chef knife and a Victorinox knife. I like this one the best thus far and will likely pick one up for my friend as a Christmas gift this year. Overall, I give this product 5 stars and I am sure you'll get your money's worth out of this one. Review: Be Prepared to be Impressed - WOW!! Yesterday I received my Zelite 8" Chefs Knife and let me tell you.. this baby is a work of art and the attention to every detail is evident when you pick it up and your hand naturally grips the curves of the garolite handle. If that does not impress you, then you will be blown away with the beautiful 67 layers of Damascus steel. The packaging was excellent and like the knife itself, is high end and on point. Right out of the box you will notice the VG-10 Japanese blade is razor sharp and ready to tackle any slicing, dicing or chopping you may need to get done. I just so happened to of made a trip to the butcher shop earlier in the morning and had to cut a few steaks into smaller portions and turn some sirloin into cubes for stewing or chili. I am more than happy to report that the Zelite Chefs Knife preformed like a champ! You've heard the phrase "like a hot knife through butter"?, well that is what it felt like. With my other knives (which have already made their way to the trash bin) I was hacking and sawing into the meat with some pretty bad results. Over all, I was so impressed with this chefs knife that I logged back on desertcart and ordered the Zelite bread knife! I am very much looking forward to finally replacing all of my other knives as soon as Zelite makes a paring and boning knives available! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ All rounder Chef Knife 8 inch - beautifully presented - quality product

The supplier kindly sent me a review sample for evaluation, the opinions expressed here are entirely my own This 8 inch chef knife arrived in a beautifully presented white box with red velvet firm sponge cut-way packaging inside and a magnetic clasp to close the box. This makes it ideal to store the knife in when not in use. There was a small protective plastic cover to protect the corner of the blade so that you do not cut yourself. This is certainly a RAZOR sharp knife and I would use it with caution. For testing purposes I used it to cut a very tough melon and a winter squash, hard Italian cheese and it sliced through everything with ease. This is excellent as this has saved me a lot of time and effort trying to cut it. I am thrilled and impressed with this knife. It made light work of a normally off-putting chore. This knife is easy to handle and although the handle is quite thick, it is easy to grip and hold. The handle has the Zelite name on it and is durable, tough and perfect for the size of the blade. This chef knife is really robust and tough. I have other knives from the selection of knives from Zelite and I use them all frequently. This knife has been made using German Steel and some features worth mentioning are the razor sharp edge for maximum sharpness & safety. I would advise great care should be taken when using this knife. As with all the knives from Zelite they really feel a "cut above" other knives and you can tell to look at, this is a quality item and one that will last a long time if proper care is taken with it. This has been made from the German Steel X50 -ThyssenKrupp High Carbon Stainless Steel There is a lovely swirl pattern on the blade which is hard to show in a photograph. The dimensions are 32.9 x 2.4 x 4.5 cm Regular honing is recommended to maintain the razor sharp edge and it is NOT recommended to use this knife for cutting bones or frozen food. It is a comfortable and although slightly heavy to hold when cutting I did find that it was comfortable on my wrist. I will be using this mostly for chopping, slicing and cutting fruit and vegetables, cheese as well as meat. It is great on stubborn vegetables such as butternut, pumpkin and fruit such as watermelons. Although it is dishwasher safe, I purposely never put it in the dishwasher and instead wash it lightly in soapy water, rinse it under the tap and dry it when I have finished. I used a wooden chopping board as glass and stone are not recommended but a plastic board is also recommended. This is a lovely item to give as a gift such as for a wedding or to collect the range of Zelite knives. This comes with a lifetime guarantee & warranty.
