So I went online and found that there's a power cord for the blink outdoor camera with an 15ft cord. (don't quote me on the length) But I picked it up for about $15, ran it around to power, and haven't had any issues with power since. I DO have a different motion detector with a light over the garage which helps. WELL Dang.... if you go to Amazon and search this (outdoor blink camera power cord) you'll find a BUNCH of different cords with different lengths. Hope that helps for those still waiting on solar **Q: How long do the batteries last** A: Hey, I have 5-xt2 cameras connected to my WiFi. Had them running full time for two years changed one camera. Had one said change batteries,I did and couldn’t get it back on line. Contacted support and after a couple days and me trying (there is only a couple steps to take) they said a new camera is on the way. Can’t beat that. Totally happy with these, don’t go cheap for the batteries,get a good 1.5 v lithium battery. My system takes tons of clips,pretty long duration, good quality and they just keep on trucking. Most issues are when it gets windy and a lot of rain,I shut them down, and the squirrels in the morning. I see everything,delivered items getting tossed from 10 yards to the porch, every critter that comes through. Yeah I recommend these. **Q: Can the lights be triggered to come on when another blink camera on the same system detects motion? If not free great idea for you to work on!!!** A: You need the Amazon Ring cameras for this feature. The speakers on this camera don't project very far, and it would be great if there was a siren feature. The siren would add to the size. One day, I found myself yelling at a trespasser with no success. The camera was about 15 feet away. Due to those those issues, I added Ring cameras to my security set-up. One thing Blink has over Ring is the distance one can place the cameras from one's router. Be nice if both had repeaters so one could mount them much farther away. My farthest Blink is probably 300 feet through a cinderblock garage and several walls of the house. Ring often can't handle two interior walls and one exterior brick that might be 50 feet from the router. The camera on Blink has it all over the one on Ring. The pictures on the Ring break up like crazy. The Blink is always steady. The Blink camera is B & W at night, which makes it better for night time images. The Ring tries to go with color images at night using the light, which severely limits the coverage area. Before that light comes on, the image is great in B & W. If only Ring had a way to toggle off the color at night. Only the direct-powered ones have a feature to turn off color at night, but it doesn't work. Since they're now owned by Amazon, maybe some day the two camera systems will be combined using the best features from both. **Q: Will it work with existing sync module?** A: Worked just fine with Sync Module 1. Easy install on a pergola post in the back yard. Don't forget to remove the plastic insert so the lights come on... I was too busy to read that instruction having put up multiple other Blink cameras. Blink is OK as a system, images are good enough but the reaction time seems a little slow sometimes missing the action (also having a VPN on my iPhone delays receipt of the action) other times being triggered a little too easily (leaves vs a human body). Distance is not a strong point but 10 yards seems to provide an adequate image that police could use. The talk feature works well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good for the price, but not the best *by J***H on January 3, 2023* I like these cameras but sometimes the motion detection is off on the timing. I will have something set them off and then it will be a few seconds after the motion then it starts recording. The voice recording is great you can hear people talking from pretty far away. The night vision and camera quality is pretty clear and nice. The big ones like these could have a wider lens on them for a better view. My problem is mostly with the application. I can't switch from camera to camera very quickly or the app glitches out. My husband and I cannot look at the cameras at the same time on our phones. If the camera is recording you cannot look at them in the app at the same time.
