A: No they're not.

**Q: How long do these pillows have to air out upon first purchase?**
A: I took them from package & just placed on the bed & within the amount of time it took for a load of sheets to dry 30-35 minutes & then I put pillow cases on them & my granddaughter went to bed. We weren't sure how long it would take because when I purchased her mattress it took close to 12 hours.

A: No, these are some of the best pillows I’ve ever purchased.

Great customizable pillows. Great value.There is a new car smell when you 1st open the pillows. I suggest washing the pillow cases right out the box. I am currently using one right after washing, and I do not smell anything. I also suggest using one of those vacuum bags to keep the extra stuffing if you like a less fluffy pillow. Contours beautifully to my head, neck and upper spine. Great to put the other one under my legs as it cuddles the muscles, and adds height to relieve swelling. Well made.
