**Q: So due to overheating this is just a waste of money right now till they fix the overheating issues?**
A: For testing purposes only, I set mine up with a power bank on the floor with a mount and it ran at 4k 30fps for over 3 hrs & 15 mins before I turned it off myself.  

If I ran it on 60-120 fps, I'm sure it wouldn't run for 3+ hours (or until I turned it off) but I also have no reason to shoot at high frame rates for long durations of time.  I did a short test at 60fps though and it was over 35 minutes before I turned it off myself.  

I think firmware updates have helped.  There are also Ulanzi/Smallrig cages that help with heat dissipation too.   

Overall I'm very pleased with it since I mainly would be doing long shooting at 4k 30fps and if I need to ramp up the FPS for a slow motion video, I can get those clips without any issues.

**Q: Is there support for H.265?**
A: Simple answer is no. The camera supports MP4 which is H.264 format. The new format is HEVC H.265 which has better compression. The biggest difference between the two formats is HEVC/H.265 has better video compression and hence smaller video files. Unless you are filming in 4K, you will not see a lot of difference between the two.

**Q: Can it be externally powered for all day shooting?**
A: Dear customer,

Thank you for your inquiry. It can be used while charging. However, the heat from charging will affect the device’s battery life. It is recommended to power off DJI Action 2 and fully charge it before usage. 
For your information, the operation time for Camera Unit + Front Touchscreen Module can go up to 160 minutes, tested in a laboratory environment while recording 1080p/30fps (Power Reserve) video with electronic image stabilization disabled. This figure should be used for reference only. 
And charging time: Camera Unit + Front Touchscreen Module: 90 minutes, tested in a laboratory environment when using a 5V/2A USB adapter.

### ⭐ OVERHEATS !

Great build, it's almost too nice to be an action cam, more like a mobile phone quality build id be concerned that the metal body paint would damage if used hard. My issue is overheating. 5 mins of record time is useless for some of the sporting events i do. Nothing worse than wanting to watch back my 20 mins of onboard karting to find i only got 5 mins of footage. I also do lots of water sports, but to get the Action 2 to last a little longer with the heat issue i need to run it with the front facing camera which isn't waterproof. You can get a DJI waterproof case for the camera and screen module but can imagine that would only make the heating issue worse, possibly giving you even less than the already poor 5 mins record time. I have a GoPro Hero 10 and i got this as a possible replacement. The GoPro Hero 10 isn't perfect but of the two it beats the Action 2 Hands down for practicality and useability. My suggestion: Don't buy it now and wait to see if DJI release firmware that can possible fix the heating issue. I wont be waiting for that as there's no guarantee a fix will come and I'm still within the window with Amazon for a return.....and that's what i will be doing. I could possible buy again in the future if the problems get fixed (and by this time it will probably be cheaper then the current RRP of £455), but this item was rushed to market way too soon. it's just not ready !
