Review: Great pressing of a classic - When this record came out I had been a longtime REM fan. I loved all their records but this one was a letdown. Of course, I had just gotten to college the fall begore this came out and had discovered jazz. So I was fully immersed in that and also was hoping for a more political record more like Life's Rich Pageant or Green. However, I now love this record and it has some of my favorite REM songs like Country Feedback and Near Wild Heaven. This is a fantastic pressing as well.

When this record came out I had been a longtime REM fan. I loved all their records but this one was a letdown. Of course, I had just gotten to college the fall begore this came out and had discovered jazz. So I was fully immersed in that and also was hoping for a more political record more like Life's Rich Pageant or Green. However, I now love this record and it has some of my favorite REM songs like Country Feedback and Near Wild Heaven. This is a fantastic pressing as well.

Classic album. Harmonies between Mills and Stipe are some of their best work. It is an amazing road trip album, where you are taken on an authentic journey of highs and lows. If I had one criticism, REM should have left “Shiny Happy People” off the album and saved it to put on a romantic comedy film Soundtrack.
