Wenn man 12 Wirbel braucht, aber nicht gerade preiswert. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent tuner upgrade for my cheap guitar! *by S***T on 18 June 2024* After fussing with sloppy tuners on my cheap Epiphone Les Paul Model E1 (Melody Maker), I decided to upgrade the tuners. After searching online, I decided upon these tuners due to many positive reviews and support of the manufacture. I received these tuners delivered as promised and installed them the moment they arrived. I had to increase the size of the mounting holes. I purchased a set of metric drill bits off of amazon and I used four bits successively to increase the holes. 8mm, 8.5mm, 9mm and finally 9.5mm. I then used a small dremel sanding drum attachment to just get the back side of the hole just right. I masked off both sides of the head to make sure I minimized any splintering and I took my time. I got a nice snug fit. I inserted them, lined them up properly and then inserted the tiny screw to hold them in place and then using a deep socket, I secured the pegs with the threaded inserts and washers. Turned out perfect. I put 6 of the old screws back into the left over holes from the old tuners so that I did not have unfinished little holes to deal with. It looks just fine that way and doesn't require any touch up at all. You really don't even notice the screws that are just hiding the holes. The tuners worked perfectly right out of the box. All turn nicely and are not too stiff or loose and the 18:1 turning ratio is great. The locking tuner part works well too. Do not over tighten them but rather just snug them up without a lot of force. The lock the strings well. Basically, if you pull the string through until it is mostly in place, lock it in and then tighten, you only need about 1/2 to 3/4 of a peg turn to get proper tuning. Snip the excess string wire accordingly.
