Obviously that upset me because of the price of almost $100 I would expect perfection but I understand shipping damage is possible. So I tried to overlook/brush it off. After about a week of use It has continued to chip. The chipping is so bad it is leaving a black flake residue on the knifes. I'm having to wash them over and over and will need to replace the base/stand. Not worth the buy especially for the price. I do not recommend and realize I should have just returned instead of trying to give the product the benefit of the doubt. A faulty product naturally, not faulty because of shipping. While I always handwash the big blade after using them, a few of the smaller ones (like the steak knives) ended up going into the dishwasher.
