## Description

This clever compost bin has been carefully designed to help reduce the smell from collected food waste. It has a unique, ventilated design that allows air to enter and circulate inside the caddy, which helps to reduce moisture - the main cause of unpleasant odors from decomposing food. In addition, it features a replaceable odor filter in the lid that works in tandem with the fresh air to help trap any smells that do occur. It has an easy-clean polypropylene body, a flip-top lid and a sturdy stainless-steel carry handle. A liner-retaining hole inside ensures any liners stay in place and the rim of the removable lid hides any untidy bag overhang. Perfect for storing on a kitchen counter, it is also compatible with Stack Recycling Separation Units. Custom-fit, compostable liners (IW2) are available separately for the perfect fit. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and wash by hand with hot, soapy water.

Review: Great little caddy - This thing is great - you can flip up the lid and close it to keep the smell at bay - we rarely have food in it for more than 24hrs, so I don't know how well the odor gets absorbed. It stores easily under the sink and you can grab it easily with the handle. When you are ready to dump, the lid/handle comes off to dump with ease.

**Q: Is there any way for small insects to enter this bin? I live in Hawaii and the flies will get into this if there is an opening.**
A: I have used this bin in my freezer (rather than my countertop) for years to avoid fruit flies and smells. Works like a charm—highly recommend.

**Q: Can the carry handle be removed?**
A: Yes the handle can be removed.

**Q: Is it pretty east to clean if you don't use a liner?**
A: I have always used a liner, but I have washed it out just as I would any other dish or container with no problems.  It is easy to dry and start using right away after washing.

**Q: Are there replacement filters available?**
A: To those who answered yes, where do you get them?
I could not locate them here or on Wayfair or Walmart.

I am a huge fan of anything Joseph Joseph. Their designs are very intelligent. This fits well on the counter and is not obtrusive. It is easy to clean. I've been using this for about a week after being very resistant to saving food scraps. I like the size - it's perfect for daily use. Our city has us add scraps to our green/landscape bin so composting is fairly straight forward. The countertop bin they provided us was just absolutely terrible so I've been hunting for a decent replacement ever since. This looks really nice in the kitchen, you wouldn't know it was full of food scraps. It's a good size, it's small so it doesn't take up too much space, but roomy and really easy to clean. The lid opens up nicely and is lightweight so it doesn't tip the bin (like the city provided one did...) The metal handle is also a great upgraded feature. It just feels sturdy and well made. It's still winter so the bugs aren't out yet, so I'm not sure how well this will deter pests. I'll update if we end up with a fruit fly problem.
