You had to be careful as to how much you let the cats pull on it. With this version of the toy, it's way different. The metal the stick is made from bends easily and it's lightweight; but because the stick is made from this material, it doesn't perma-bend. I have many of the flyers from this company so I'm happy to say I have plenty of those. My cats have been using these cat fishing toys for a year and go crazy for it. Amazing exercise for them and their excitement gets me jazzed to play with them. I definitely recommend you buy a "fishin" stick that comes with a flyer and a separate flyer to replace the pre-installed one n just in case you're babies go a little to zealous in play time.
