The rivets are tight and completely flush. There are no protruding rivets and no sunken rivets. The metal is thicker than I expected, and gives he knife a pleasant weight. The balance is good and the knife fits well into my hand. The factory edge was moderately sharp, but I sharpened the knife anyhow to get the edge I prefer. The blade took well to sharpening, and captured a satisfactory edge across the whole blade. No dull spots. I've only had the knife for a few weeks, and I already like it better than some of my other small knives. I don't know yet, how long it will keep a sharp edge. But after a couple weeks, it's still holding-up very well. I'm thinking, now, that I may want to buy some of the other Henckels knives that are advertised as "chef class". The first time I used it I thinly sliced my thumb as well. It is VERY sharp. Other than that, it is a good little knife. I use it often and have no complaints. I would buy it again.
