I use it with my 6hp shopvac that I plumbed with 2" sch 40 and made any adaptors I needed from 2" plumbing fittings and a heat gun if needed the centec hose end fits almost perfectly in 2" fitting I went around the vac hose once with the fuzzy side of velcro and it fits great. I could have heated the pvc and shrunk it to fit but the velcro was easy and I had some laying around. Knowing this going in, I love this sander. It’s so smooth and quiet. Dust collection is phenomenal as you expect with festool. It’s very comfortable in the hand. Holding it in your hand, you can feel the quality. I’m not one to baby my tools and have no fear that I’ll ever wear this thing out, it’ll last. The 3 year all inclusive warranty is always a deciding factor for me. It’s variable speed just in case but I seldom take it off the highest setting. I needed a smaller orbit to round out my sander inventory. My other main sander is not great for veneer and other delicate sanding. I do a lot of refinishing so that was a huge reason I bought this one. I don’t have to worry about eating through veneer now. Between my 5mm stroke Bosch and other festool detail sanders, anything else will just be because I like having cool stuff.
