Review: Better than it looks, and that's something! - I've been waiting to see this here and jumped the moment I could! The shoe is the longest of all three parts, roughly 2-3" longer than the blade in sheath. And speaking of the shoe- this is a solid spike, it's not going to just bend if you lean it against a wall. The blade....yep, you can grip that socket like a handle. So if you were thinking this is a back up machete, it is, but blade heavy and way off balance; however, it would do in a pinch. Blade and shoe are both formidable in their right, no question. The handle is dark brown wood (not black like the promo images) and not butter-smooth, which works for me as that gives extra grip on the gloves, otherwise expect to sand it down before use or customization. If you think you want this, you won't be disappointed and you should probably pick one up while you can.
