Is there a stand?** A: No stand. The case has molded probe holders on the back. They aren't really very useful since the wires still have to be dealt with (if you're trying to store the thing away... etc.) The display does tilt, so you don't really need a stand. For a low priced multi-meter, this is a good choice. I'm on my third over about 15 years. I'm pretty hard on this sort of gear, but I can replace it for low cost. For the price, I don't cry if it sees too high current or gets left out in the rain... **Q: Auto turn off to save battery life?** A: If I leave it on for too long, the display shuts off for me, although the button is pressed in like it still on. I need to re-press (off), then press again (back on) **Q: Does this come with the Thermal probe?** A: Yes it does come with a thermal probe, and the one I received was very accurate. But handle with care,as it appears to be a light weight probe for light use not industrial. **Q: Is this the same multimeter that Harbor Freight sells for about half the price from this seller?** A: No it is a different model 61593 with auto shut off. They are very close and appear to have all the same functions. The one at harbor freight is model # 61593 and is a older version. I just have to get used to the symbols used instead of words. The dial is easy to turn. Adjusting for different types of readings (as in Celsius and Farenheit).
