They were about $20 each but I didn't need them at the time. By the time I did need them they were double the price or more, so again, I waited. When the price dropped again, I bought them. They are made of a VERY durable fabric, I would describe as 'scratch proof' and very easy to clean. My dogs haven't chewed them, and while they aren't 'chew proof', they are proactively chew resistant. By this I mean it is hard for a dog to chew. It has very flat edges and corners which make it very hard for a dog to get a good spot to chew. My only complaint is that the pad is the correct width, but about two inches shorter than the crate is long. While it isn't really a big deal, it seems it would be better to just make them in the standard crate sizes available, like every other crate mat or pad is made. Overall, I am hery happy with these pads and would recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable, durable crate pad that is worth the cheaper price. I previously had a set of these that made it about two years. My dogs don't chew but they do scratch a little.
