Either they mis-labeled the size, or the warning about this being only large enough for a 4 foot diameter bale is not very accurate. This bag could probably fit a 5 foot diameter bale. Plenty of room in it. I double checked the box and the tag that came with it and it says small. The nylon mesh is not knotted at all.So far I have put 4 round bales thru it and I see no fraying or signs of damage. Looking good!Update: August 2016. I am not sure how many bales have gone thru it, but it is still working perfectly. No holes. No rot (nylon is hard pressed to rot) on the bottom. I have two mammoth donkeys and one standard donkey who eat off of it in their night stall.Update: December 2016. It has been a year and I have put 5 or 6 round bales thru it. Still perfect. No holes, not rot and in fact the bottom of the round bale gets donkey urine on it and it is discolored, but there is no rot. I love this net. As the bale gets eaten down, I do have to redo the closure to remove excessive netting. But that takes all of a couple of minutes.Update: November 2017. Still going strong without any holes. When the bale gets down around a foot or two off the ground, I usually replace it because the donkeys push it and move it all around. I am not sure of the number of round bales that have been thru this net, but at this rate, I expect it to last at least a couple of more years. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the investment! *by O***M on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2020* This net is worth its weight in gold! I purchased this at the end of December and have fed 4 large round bales out of it since (our bales are 4x5 ft) and it is working perfect for my 4 horses. The horses have not only kept weight over winter they’ve gained. There’s zero hay waste and the net is easy to put on and does it’s job perfectly! I purchased the small sized net as I read a review on here saying it does fit a 4x5’ bale and that review was correct. Our bales weigh 1100-1200lbs and the small bale buddy is easy to slip on over a bale that size. We’ve slipped the net on over a bale on the ground as well as on a hay spear on our tractor and both are done easily. Our horses not only look great but it’s decreased the food aggression issues we’ve had in the past since they’re offered free choice hay now. I can’t say enough great things about this net and it’s so worth the investment! We place our bales in a shed on a wooden pallet and have zero issues with wetness and molding.
