Due to the simple nature of preacher curl benches I just can’t justify paying over $100 for one. That being said, when you value shop sometimes you regret not going for the higher priced item. Not so in this case. While it may not have the thickest padding or thickness of steel as a more expensive bench, I am confident it will serve me well. The elbow pad has sufficient pad thickness and is not uncomfortable. Some reviews have stated that the pad needs to be wider. I don’t disagree that it would be nice if they were, and it might be necessary for a large framed person. My husband is 5'9" and broad in the shoulders. I am 5'4" and its perfect for me. For close grip curls there is no issue, but wide grip you are toward the edge. In my husband's case, it didn't affect his workout. Everything works as it should and feels sufficient and sturdy. It only took ten minutes to put together and I was good to go. For me this was a good value to suit my needs and I am pleased with my purchase. As long as you are realistic about what you can obtain for the price you will not be disappointed.
