The blades on all 3 pairs are excellent: the micro serration makes them super sharp affording precision cuts, the balance makes them a pleasure to use. There is however, room for improvement in the 8-inch pair because the thumb whole can cause discomfort. The design of the thumb whole is smaller than other 8-inch scissors (such as Fiskars, Scotch's for example) and cause fatigue on the thumb rather quickly. But because each pair in the set can compensate for the other, the smaller thumb-whole on the 8-inch pair is not too problematic. Since the blades are so sharp, it is easy to use the 8-inch par for slide cutting so that no pressure is put on the thumb. Other cuts can easily be achieved with he 6-inch pair which has a larger thumb whole approximating a large handle design. The smallest of the set is perfect for detail work as it cuts through all the way to the tip, like the other pairs do. I use these scissors to cut very thick paper and crepe paper for sculpturing and flower making and I love to work with them.
