Most things I can jes pull an it'll cut no problem.. on occasions I've had to chop carrots smaller but that's all so far..i bought this as a gift for a family member but at the time of purchase I was in between moves and I couldn't find a knife.. I never told my bro-in-law I was getting him one so no loss there.. but a big gain for me. I love this lil guy.. The product feels well made, as in I don't feel like when I yank/pull when there's some resistance, that the string is going to break. Secondly, it's a snap to clean up.
