## Description

The YOUCANIC UCAN-I OBD-II Scanner allows you to diagnose and clear check engine light fault codes on all 1996 and newer gasoline and diesel vehicles, including domestic and imported models. It can retrieve generic, manufacturer-specific, and pending codes, determine the cause of the check engine light, and turn it off. The scanner also displays freeze frame data, supports all 10 OBD-II test modes, and shows monitor and I/M readiness status for emissions. Additionally, it provides live O2 sensor and EVAP system test data, and displays live sensor data in both text and graph modes. The built-in DTC look-up library helps with code definitions. The scanner measures 11.6 x 2.4 x 8 cm and weighs 0.161 kg. The package includes the YOUCANIC UCAN-I Car Scanner and an English manual.

This is a must-have for any car owner whether you know how to fix cars or not. I keep one in the glovebox. Using it is very easy. You just need to find the diagnostic port which is going to be under the dashboard, driver's side. Connect the scanner to the port and then turn your ignition on, press enter a few times and BAM you get the codes. No batteries are necessary. You can view codes that have triggered the check engine light and descriptions. The coolest thing is that this scanner will also show pending codes. So if your check engine light is not on, but there is a potential problem, take a look at pending codes. I think this feature is brilliant and I plan on using it when I buy a used car next time. That way I don't need to wonder if the seller cleared the codes because they will show up under pending even if the check engine light is not on. Clearing the codes is as easy as reading them. It did clear one code I had even without me fixing the issue but the check engine light came back again eventually which makes sense. Lastly, I saw that it has the option to check the I/M readiness, which basically shows if the car will pass the smog test as long as the systems are market with OK or Not Applicable (N/A).

I learned enough to find out if my car would pass the emission test before I even go to the testing station. If you are willing to take the time and learn how to use this scanner, you'll be glad you bought it. I'm very pleased with my purchase. ### ⭐ Very confusing and technical instructions. Not helpful.

Seems to be a "good" product for the money, but instructions are super confusing - like you already need to be a mechanic and know the lingo. I would rather spend more on one that's easier to follow and that has instructions that are written in plain English. I actually didn't find the product useful at all because of how technical the instructions are.
