## Questions & Answers

**Q: In the photo there is a black area on the end of the insert that appears to be some sort of cut out.  What is that exactly?  Its not solid?**
A: This is, basically, the same insert that comes withe any SawStop.  It just hasn't been cut, yet.  If you have a SawStop, you'll see that the dark area is solid material, but it has the slit needed for the guard mount or riving knife - something many ZCI's do not have. It is indented a little.

**Q: Did anyone have any trouble cutting the insert to accommodate setting the blade to 45 degrees?**
A: None at all - if you only want to cut 45 then set to 45 and  lower the blade and insert. Then turn the blade on and raise the blade.  You will now have a zero clearance 45 insert.

**Q: Any issues using this insert for Dado setup?**
A: Absolutely none. Works great. Seriously, I use it a lot and no problems.  Just make sure you protect yourself because the dust comes flying when you send the dado blades through the insert to size it.

**Q: Do I have to cut the plate for dato blades?**
A: The plate comes blank exactly as pictured.  The opening is cut in situ as the blade is raised into the plate yielding a zero clearance plate opening.
