Simple to install & program and has needed features without going the smart route. Installed during peak cooling season and now well into heating season it works excellent. Holds temps both heat & cool with no short cycling. Great non smart T-stat for a great price.
Review: The easiest I’ve set up and used. - This is the easiest programable t-stat I have ever used. I had it in a hotel and decided I needed it for the house. The screen is bright when you need it but blacks out quickly when done. The numbers are also nice and large. It’s default if a 5 day a week program (M-F) but the instructions to change either to a 7 day program can be found in the ”installer” program instructions. Not the “user” program instructions which is not obvious but do-able. Bottom line: It is perfect.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do i orogram my new thermostat**
A: It came with instructions and if you read them carefully several times and take one item at a time, you should be able it complete all the steps .  It might be easier to have someone read each step to as you input them on the thermostat.   Good luck.

**Q: How do i take the lock off?**
A: White Rodgers Customer Service is excellent.  888-725-9797 or 800 284 2925

**Q: How does it switch to fossil fuel heat?**
A: Automatically.  There's usually a preset temperature (mine is 25 F) for the temp at which it should switch over.  Alternatively, you can choose to run on fossil.

**Q: can it be used for heater only?**
A: Not sure I quite understand the question regarding "heater". But this thermostat can be used for heat or cooling and it can be used with a heat pump (which is exactly how I am using it).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mostly easy replacement

This is a replacement for my 20+ year old Lux programmable that although still operating correctly was having failures in the hold mode and setting the time. Programming this one was pretty much similar. The only difficulty and the most time consuming was on installation trying to attach my two very old wires (cloth insulated) into the sideways slots. Front approach which Honeywell seems to have would have been easier.
