To the right of the antenna theres a plug to charge (9-12VDC), it takes twelve hours to charge for the first charge. Every charge thereafter is four or six hours (double check instructions). The device is mobile. Its a good battery, I've only charged it once, I havent needed it. Maybe a handfull of places I've actually swept a specific area and ive had it for eight months. I wouldnt leave the device plugged in the wall too long after its charged, you'll decrease battery life. **Q: Is the dd2020 dual voltage?
