**Q: Are the edges a selvedge edge, or are they cut, or are they sewn?  My couche is starting to ravel on the cut edges which are not finished.**
A: The edges should always be even. If not, it must be returned

**Q: Where is this made?  Is it machine washable and dryable?  Does it shrink?  Thank you!**
A: It is made in France.  Made from 100% natural linen fiber. It states that it NEVER BE WASHED !!. Just shake it out. Scrape off any stuck on dough abd let air dry completely.

**Q: Why should I get this instead of a banneton?**
A: Bannetons and couches are for different purposes. A banneton is used for a bread form, like a bouley, but the couche is used to help baguettes, ciabatta, et al retain their shape as they proof.

**Q: Can you wash before the couche before the first use?  I would like clean before I start**
A: No; it is not to be washed.  after using, one just shakes it out and air drys it.  if you wash it, you will ruin the characteristics of the cloth serving the purpose for which it was uniquely woven.  Mine is from France and i can speak for that item uniquely.

Nice thick linen canvas. I dust it with rice flour, but it hardly needs it. I have mostly used it for bread dough that is about 80% hydration, and haven't had any issue with the dough wanting to stick to the cloth. I shake it out and hang it up to dry on the back porch, and when I want to store it, I have been folding it (completely dry) and storing in an open plastic gallon ziplock bag - not zipped shut! However, I want to make a way to store it rolled up instead of folded, for the longevity of the cloth, as I read that long-term, the folds can cause weak points in the fabric.
