Education needs to be more than focusing on standardized test scores. As for the contents of the book, the letters are not all formed the way most people were taught decades ago based on the standard cursive alphabet displayed in grade schools. For example, on lower case letters such as a, c, g, o--this book shows an upward beginning stroke from the baseline vs starting at the rounded portion. Lower case r & s do not have the sharp peak at the top of the initial upward stroke. Many upper case letters lack the beginning loops and/or beginning strokes taught in the past. That being said, it's a very 'clean' version of cursive and will get the job done. I homeschool and tbh cursive is not my priority. But my 8 year old is essentially teaching herself to write in cursive from this book. The 5 year old ALSO wants her turn with it too. I am such a fan of dry erase books for handwriting. My kids never liked official writing paper to practice handwriting.
