Am thinking of buying it as a Christmas gift for my son and his wife. Does it hold up?** A: Yes, it works and it does hold up. However, as the other reviewer said, it is rather clumsy. I've had mine for several years with no problems. **Q: Can someone tell me if this device has any paid subscription at all? Some devices make you pay for their website services and I want to avoid that.** A: The only paid subscription is if you want to use their NeatCloud service (optional). Otherwise, no fees. **Q: does it print out "reports" so that an accountant can file my taxes?** A: Although I've not used the report feature yet as I still have mounds of documents to add to clean up 3 years of taxes for my parents to be cleaned up. It does create 3 different reports you can use for your accountant. You can create an Expense report, Tax category report that breaks expenses down by vendor, Sales tax report, Tax form Summary report & spending summary. You can also grant your accountant access to the cloud files for reference if they need to see an individual item.
