You should see some led lights like the one at the power on-off switch. If totally dead, probably a bad power supply. If you have some LED activity but no power up, could be a Bios battery (a lithium coin cell on the back of the motherboard). these last about 5 years. Changing these are often via a removable cover. You need cheap digital voltmeter to test with, the meter Harbor freight sells is decent, and would tell you if the power supply/charger works, and if the bios battery has 3 volts.
