Pay close attention to the item description and on nameplate when rec'd. The item shown has a nameplate on unit for 208-220v which is where the HVAC guy was looking. You should know Chinese products have a diff. (weaker) view of voltage vs. NEC--research this thoroughly before proceeding. The 220v unit (this one as described) only has one white wire--not two-for load, depicting 115 volts which is scary. I used 10-2 AWG b/c of this, but you can get away with 12-2 or even 14-2 (easier to bend and handle ESPECIALLY through conduit and at breaker panel--get and use a fishtail), with 30 amp dipole breaker. Also certain states require GFCI at disconnect box (research this!)--an added feature b/c it may also provide a HOT internal to box outlet (if so, shut off at breaker before all maintenance--unless you need the outlet for adjacent usage). I purchased a 60 amp disconnect w/GFCI--yea, all this was overkill, but I can go up in unit size if I want to later. But seller should be honest and more open about product. Our room had to designated plugs, so the install was very easy after switching out a breaker.it dose not use to hi of AMP’s depending on what you have for power I don’t see a problem putting a Disconnect box and piggybacking off a existing outlet with a GFI or fuse disconnect box to securely protect the AC from any power outages, power, spikes or drops. I did this out of just overly protecting it, I also drilled through the concrete and set a 6 foot ground copper rod grounded that as well to the disconnect box and the circuit. Our home does not come with a ground. It is ground through the conduit so adding that was just a precautionary, it ties into the neutral leg of the panel with some advice from All pro electric in Rancho Cucamonga CA. Master electrician.i give this project a1 out of 10 on a difficulty level of a two.!
