Review: 7YO really likes it - Got this for my 7YO nephew who was gotten much more into programming lately since his parents started to let him play video games for an hour a day. He had done Scratch JR and Scratch 3.0 before, but I don't think he realized the applications of programming until he started playing video games and realized that he can make his own game. So he has been SUPER into learning Scratch 3 lately. He's been doing some tutorials and videos online, but likes books more because he says he can read it at night before bed (I swear, this kid has such an old soul), so here's this book. I am a software engineer so I was able to review the book to see if he would be able to follow along with. It is colorful and the instructions are easy to read and follow before I gave it to him. His parents tell me he is able to follow along with the book by himself and doesn't really have to ask his dad for help (also a programmer). So yep, I highly recommend this for any highly motivated 7+ kid who wants to make their own video game. Also if you have a daughter, I highly recommend this book for them as well, as it is not a gendered book, as it walks through building a side scrolling game for any kid to enjoy.
