Only for pooling leak. *by G***T on Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2021* Unlike the SmartThings water sensors, this does not have any sensors on the top for a drip type detection from above. It only has 3 sensors on the bottom which double as the screws for the case and battery access. Not only do these bottom screws/sensors make it inconvenient for a battery replacement or reset of the device, they are too recessed from the bottom, which means the water level will have to be high before it trips a detection. I much prefer water sensors that are way more sensitive, because I much prefer knowing a leak if it starts as a drip, before a pool of water. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice Device that works with Home Assistant *by M***C on Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2021* I got this sensor for $12 which is quite a good deal compared to other brands. It uses AAA batteries so I am anticipating good battery life out of this but will update if that changes. I use this sensor with Home Assistant and it was pulled into my ZHA instance without issue. Reports are instant. It really does exactly what I was hoping for. The audible alarm is easy to hear even with it tucked under my sink in the vanity.My only con for this device would be that the connection that water needs to bridge for it to trigger is rather big. The connection are the screws that hold the device together on the bottom. This meaning that a decent amount of water needs to leak before this device will trigger. It is still much less than not knowing at all and they are transparent about its capabilities in the listing so I am not going to knock it a star for this. I also wish it had contacts on the top of it like the Samsung device so that water dripping on top of it could also trigger. But hey, this device is exactly as it was described and was cheap cheap cheap. I can't be upset about that. The fact it works with Home Assistant is big ups for me as well. Will be buying more. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally an option for Smartthings! *by Z***V on Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2021* I have been very upset that Samsung pulled out of the Smartthings device manufacturing business and it's been absolutely ridiculous to find another water leak sensor. For the money, I was willing to give this one a shot. There was absolutely no problem integrating it into ST and it worked as advertised. The screws on the bottom also double as the water sensors.My SOLE reason for rating this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the screws are recessed too deeply (in my opinion) so it will take some amount of standing water to get it to alert. On the other hand - they *are* screws so I think I'll just back them out a bit so it takes less water to get them to alert.
