This sharpened jaw actually "digs" into the tube to grip it squeeze and the hose is easily pushed off by the silver jaw. Review: Handy tool - Specialty item that will get more use than expected. It’s the right tool for the job, making hose removal quick and easy. Made in USA. The spring seems to be of good quality, and it’s sturdily supported within the tool. As a small engine mechanic, it seems like I clean carbs everyday, so this is a must have tool for removing fuel lines. If I had one suggestion it’d be to design these similar to ring pliers, where they can be reversible in order to also put the lines back on. Lisle, get ahold of me and we can talk specifics about my idea. You heard it here first😀!
