It's surprisingly hard to find light socket electrical adapters that are 3-prong. I presume that's because you don't want to take the chance that the light socket you are screwing it into isn't actually grounded. I bought this to plug in a garage door opener, where the cord would reach only a nearby light socket and not an actual outlet. Its cord was 3-prong. Was very happy to find this, and now I don't have to drape an extension cord along the garage.

Installation was extremely easy. All you have to do is take off the light bulb and replace it with this light socket plug adapter and then turn on the switch. These are great for my halloween decor. I Installed a projector outside on my front porch and it withstood the harsh weather of the desert. Easy to install. Fits most ligthbulb sockets. it works great for what i needed. It is sturdy piece of equipment. Good quality.
