## Description

Liquitex offers the broadest range of acrylic mediums to inspire creativity at every stage of the painting process. Liquitex Fluid Mediums perform much in the way that their name implies, they are fluid in nature and reduce viscosity of heavier paints and gels. They tend to self-level and do not retain brushstrokes. Liquitex Fluid Mediums modify acrylic paints in a variety of ways and contain acrylic resins to maintain or enhance adhesion and durability. Liquitex Glazing Medium Fluid Painting Medium is ideal for creating brilliant, jewel-like glazes with acrylic artist colors. Excellent brushing and leveling qualities. Dries quickly for rapid layering. Mix with any amount of acrylic color; small quantities of color provide the most transparency. Works best with transparent or translucent colors. Formulated for maximum flexibility and adhesion, will not chip or crack on canvas. Can be applied to any material or surface that will accept traditional acrylic media, such as canvas, paper, wood, etc. Liquitex Texture Gels are lightweight, non-toxic, and dry to a water-resistant, non-yellowing surface. APPLICATION: Apply to dry, painted areas to change coloration without losing established detail. Under layer must be thoroughly dry before applying the next coat. May be dried with a hair dryer to speed drying. Mix in a small amount of color with the medium. Mix thoroughly and color will lighten. Review: Good Quality Paints/Mediums By Liquitex. - This bottle is bigger than I expected! I never use these all up. I have opened bottles from over a decade ago in my closet. But regardless, I already know that this is a quality product. Liquitex is reliable in terms of their quality of materials. Their acrylic paints are somewhat basic in comparison to more expensive brands, but even those are of good quality. The acrylics are really good for beginners in particular. The colors are all very bright and clear, and the consistency is good. It's easier to work with than oils I'm guessing. It dries much faster, and still provides very vivid and bold colors. It doesn't stink like oil paints do, and I look forward to using this glazing medium in the near future. On glass! I don't have a single complaint. I've relied on Liquitex for years, and it always does what it's supposed to do. I just kinda regret getting such a large bottle. Unless it was a much better deal to do so, or if it was the only option. 473 mL...... If I worked on a brand new, large canvas every day, this would still last me for a while. Those bottles from a long time ago? I bet you they would still work ok. I don't really prefer to test that out, unless I have to. But that's how well they usually keep. They don't dry up and go bad in a couple years. So this is still a good investment.

First, it helps your thinned paint stay together into a more consistent mixture. Also, the gel-like consistency makes it slightly less watery. Second, it can help your paint dry more smoothly. You'll notice this effect particularly when painting with white, because white paint uses bigger pigments that love to clump up together and produce ugly visible bumps. Glazing medium reduces that effect to provide a somewhat smoother finish. One side effect, though, is that this medium leaves a glossy finish, so you may need to coat the finished area with a matte varnish if you don't want the glossy effect. It is possible to use too much, so use a small/moderate amount. Anyway, this product is very useful and does exactly what it's supposed to. This brand is also a recommended medium in several miniature painting videos. 5 stars.
