I'm restoring an old Printrbot Simple Pro to run this board and a TFT35 v2.0. I downloaded Fusion360, taught myself some basics (lessons at the university of YouTube) then designed and printed up an extension housing at the front of the Simple Pro frame to mount the touchscreen. Right now I'm designing a mount for the board and internal cooling. Then you have to configure the firmware for the board in Marlin. I don't know Marlin...wait...binges YT videos for a week.... I now know Marlin well enough to configure multiple setups. The screen is up and running, The stepper motors were all screaming...hmmm... ahhh...scans BTT Github pages for board pinouts...moved some wires around on the steppers and now ...they are now whisper quiet, like friggin ghost ninjas. Real quiet. Still some wiring and tidying up to do, then calibrating. It is a lot like building a 3D printer from a kit with some of the parts missing and no instructions. Great fun though. So to answer your question, Yes, yes you can get this board to work with lots of printers, but it may require some wiring and it will definitely need you to configure firmware to suit it in Marlin (unless someone already built exactly what you need already, then you just upload the pre-built firmware.bin file to your board - but where's the fun in that?) **Q: How would I be able to tell if this is compatible with my printer?** A: Technically it’s design for the ender 3 as the name has E3 but if you know what your doing you could Configure Marlon to get it to work with any friends that is FdM. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ excellent *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 22 July 2022* cant fault it, its quiet, great screen.. i aint ven tinkered with the jumpers yet... out the box im happy... ditched my 4.2.7 for this, so glad i did ### ⭐ A Massive headache in a tiny box *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 14 June 2026* Described as a drop in replacement for the original Creality board, it's not. The screen after install would not come on, turns out it was shorting on the screen mount. The firmware installed on the main board sent all my steppers crashing into endstops and the bed. Despite the onboard connection for the CR Touch none of the available firmware worked. I had to reinstall the Z stop micro switch. I have also had to download Visual studio and Marlin and attempt to write code. BigTreeTech where a total waste of time in regards to getting assistance, I honestly think they did not read my email properly as the answer they gave was no use what so ever. A search on the internet brings up loads of the same complaint and dead end fixes. No updates for this board for over two years. If you have a grasp of Marlin and are able to write your own firmware or are willing to learn and install Klipper, as many seem to have done out of frustration then by all means get this board, but do some research first as there are other boards. This board has turned out to be a bigger headache than the Creality V4.2.7 board that can't store it's settings no matter what settings you use by other users online. Perhaps once I have learned Marlin and I am able to write my own code I might have a different opinion but at the moment all I have is a very expensive paper weight. ### ⭐⭐⭐ You are buying a headache *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 16 June 2022* Motherboard is absolutely fine, works with unified firmware, but the screen.. It's not an upgrade at all, freezing, making some blobs during printing, or unloading filament randomly, I tried updating.. Same story, I still have to print in marlin mode, with the usb od ed frome the screen printer is unreliable, can't be left alone. Btw You can't see the long names in motherboard sd slot..
