Do you need to put one in each individual shelf or just a few for the whole closet?** A: The traps attract by SCENT. So I just put out one at a time, BUT I CLOSED THE DOORS of the closet unless I was reaching for something inside. I slowly realized that there was a reason for eight traps per package! You just put out one trap per week, leaving the other ones up, in case they still had active ingredients. It took 6-8 weeks to have no moths. I put my sweaters in a plastic bin with moth crystals in the meanwhile, since there were living moths breeding. The first time I opened a foil packet, I was swarmed by moths! I learned to open each new trap in another room. I learned that the hook tears off easily as you remove the cover for the sticky part, and to have a roll of tape on hand. These worked super well, but it took time to get them all. I would buy these again. **Q: How often do these need to be changed?** A: Every 3 months, same as other brands. Really works well. If you have a moth infestation, it may take a year or even 2 to clear them out. They lay teeny sand garin type eggs that will hatch months away. Wash everything in hot water. Vaccumn 2-3x every single nook cranny furniture & drapes, & wipe down w wet cloth (rinsing w every swipe). **Q: Do these use phermones or just glue?** A: Attract with pheromones but they are also sticky. They work and I don't have other solutions. **Q: Do these also catch pantry moths, i thought clothing moths were pale in color but my traps are full what look like indian meal moths?** A: It could happen, but it is a pheromone targeted towards clothes moths. For pantry moths, it is best to eliminate the grain that the immatures are in. I also always freeze all stored grains when I bring them home for 72h.
