**Q: What is the idle current draw**
A: .005 AMPS  .O6 WATTS

**Q: This absolutely works on powering my 19v tv but from a regular car battery with a multimeter hooked up its drains really fast is that normal?**
A: So at the 12vdc draw, this unit at 5 amps should pull about 60 watts, plus add an additional 25% power transformation loss, should pull about 75 total watts give or take a 12vdc. So a full size pickup battery with about 750AH should run this inverter 10 hours in a perfect world, from a full charged battery to dead.
