Intel comes in with news of a former trainee, Irene, at the forefront of the terror. Lance’s anticipated promotion comes with a new command and ship. Lance and his squad want to go after Irene but orders send them instead after another enemy, the Reeves, who can provide important intel. Buzzell sets the stage for many fights as well as surprises to keep the story flowing. Not to mention, the biggest surprise of all, a foe unlike any other. The reader is invested in every moment; emotionally and with anticipation. And, sometimes, when you least expect it, you have an unlikely source on your side. It was also nice to see how Lance has grown into his universal authority but not without losing his humanity. It is a wonderful book filled with a mix of action, suspense, and breaks in the story to give the characters more depth and stronger relationships. Well done, Ross Buzzell. Can’t wait for the next installment. Review: I can't imagine how these stories can get better - But they do. The characters will get under your skin and you won't be able to set the book down for things like eating and sleeping. Lance and the Hrafns keep getting into the deepest difficulties and dig their way back out, to find another challenge to take on. These stories are addicting. I read most of the book before I realized that he was not using profanity. Suitable storyline for young adults of all ages.
