The instructions tell you to plug this into the Switch cradle but I have plugged it into a separate USB plug (a spare 2A one from an old tablet). It works fine for me. **Q: How long does it take to charge the controllers? (With all 4 slots in use)** A: I honestly don't know, because I have never ran my joy cons out. But even from around half power all 4 charge within an hour. I find it hard to run them out. **Q: Do I just put the usb charger plug into the usb plug in the switch console in order to charge the 1 controller I have** A: Yes, this uses the usb port on the switch docking station to charge 4 joy-cons.
