Review: Got rid of the funky smell in my sneakers - My sneakers had a bad smell after I stepped in a puddle with them and I couldn't get rid of the smell. I tried some disinfectant spray, baking soda and a different shoe odor spray I already owned but nothing worked so I bought this. I took off the laces, opened up the tongue, then gave the sneakers a good spray and left them open with the spray soaking in for 48hrs. At first I thought the spray had just masked the bad odor since it has a really strong "fresh" smell which I'm not the biggest fan of, however the "fresh" smell went away after a few wears and the bad smell that was previously plaguing the shoes never came back so that's a win for me.

**Q: Will this work on the interior of a vintage guitar case? Does it work on musty fabric smells as well?**
A: Charles, Thanks of your question.  We are told by many consumers that while FunkAway is formulated to work on clothes, shoes and gear, they are using it on all kinds of musty and smelly furniture, car seats, boats, campers, etc.  You name it and it seems FunkAway works great on it.  However, knowing that vintage guitars can be VERY expensive, we would suggest that you have it professionally cleaned just to be prudent.  - The FunkAway Team

A: FunkAway is a non-toxic product.  It does not meet the criteria of acute toxicity as stated in OSHA hazard communication Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1200.  Hope this helps!

**Q: What about my gym hat? Will the residue sweat into my eyes while working out?**
A: I cant be sure of that

**Q: Would this work on hard plastic surfaces? I bought a used play kitchen for my child not knowing the people smoked in the house.**
A: I use it on my sons sparring equipment that he uses in karate. There is plastic pieces on the equipment. It works wonders for the odor. I would think it would help with the play kitchen.

The scent is clean and not overpowering, and it doesn’t just mask odors—it actually gets rid of them. That said, it’s not the best option for gym shoes. It works okay, but I’ve found other products that penetrate better into tight, fabric-heavy areas like sneakers. Still, for everything else, this spray is a must-have in your odor-fighting arsenal.
