The guts came out of the old one on my 2015 Malibu. Upon further inspection the original GM part is a piece of junk almost designed to fail. This one is hands down better. Does not come with the emergency handle, and there is no way to attach the old one. That doesn't bother me at all. Easy to install, take the trunk liner partially off, remove that inside handle. (9/32 socket) Once the latch is exposed, remove the two torx bolts, slide it back and it will come off the hangers. One wiring harness that comes off with the press of a tiny flat blade screwdriver. Took me 20 min or so. I will update this review if it gives me any grief.
