It's also nicely rigid, so once adjusted, it isn't going to move and with the thin rubber padding, it isn't going to scratch the iPad. I was looking for something to hold an iPad in place while using a midi keyboard, much like a music stand, given the quality of synth apps in the app store and after a bit of searching through different types of stands and clip on holders, I decided on this. Using Heavy Duty Stick On Velcro to attach the bottom of the keyboard to this, it allows me to use the keyboard on my lap.
