It makes your chainsaw nose heavy, but keeps you separated from the business end and works very well. I used my weed eater to clear out around the roots, so the blades wouldn't get in the dirt so much and dull quickly. The blades are better than expected and stayed sharp a long time. Resharpening wasn't too hard. The only negative issue I ran into was the adjustable slots being poorly finished and tight on one side. I had to tap the bolts in with a hammer, and had to tap more to slide/adjust. I'll work on those later. Review: Ok - Works but not really what I had hoped. You will need to drill holes in your bar and possibly get a custom length chain. *by J***N on November 17, 2025* The first thing you should know is that this is not a toy. It will peal the bark off a white oak and continue digging into the wood very quickly with sharp blades. There is no doubt that it functions well as a bark peeler, you don't want to get on the wrong end of this tool when it is spinning. I first tested it on ceder and it shaved 1/4" off with every pass. The bearing seems to be of decent quality. There is a learning curve to using it. You can go with or against the grain, the trick is to figure out how to make passes without digging to deep. It took a few tries to figure out the right chain size after assembling it. You will need to drill a bar to bolt it up to.
