This really is the manual that you would turn to if you had a question to be answered beyond the basics of the program. It even includes some legacy and discontinued product descriptions which might still be relevant. (eg. control surfaces, interfaces, sound cards, etc). This is a large 614 page tome with 23 pages of introduction and contents. It does not come with a CD/DVD and there are no working examples to get you into the program. Having said that, a novice Pro Tools user should be able to make headway in learning the program as Frank D Cooks writing style is logical, easy to read and follow. For experienced users its virtually a bible on all things Pro Tools 10.If you want to do a Pro Tools course, this book is far more than needed, Frank D Cooks  Pro Tools 101: An Introduction to Pro Tools 10  is the easier option with color picture and glossy pages, much more akin to a certification course. This book is heavy going if you do not have some experience with using a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) as prior knowledge is assumed in certain topics and functions.If anything about Pro Tools 10 is missing or not in this book, then it is not worth knowing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Must Have! *by T***S on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2013* Simply put, buy this book if your a Pro Tools 10 user!! If your either just beginning to start using Pro Tools or are experienced with Pro Tools, this book is a must have for all the above! Frank D. Cook has been kind enough to write this book and share his expertise with this incredible program. He has written another book for the Pro Tools User Certification class that I'm taking (Pro Tools 101) that is a great introduction book as well and Pro Tools 10 Power is a great addition to that book. Pro Tools 10 Power is a more in depth guide on all the possibilities of what Pro Tools can do. The book also covers other great information how digital audio works in general that can be applied to any recording situation...all great stuff!! Don't hesitate to buy this book if you want to get the most out of Pro Tools....I highly recommend!! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not much here that isn't in the manual *by P***M on Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2013* If you're looking for a bound print substitute for the Pro Tools user manual, then I suppose this book is OK for that. It doesn't include much information that isn't in the manual, and does include lots of sales-pitch-y information about Avid products that you probably don't (and won't ever) own. What the book lacks is very much how-to information. It goes through the menus and tell you what different options do, but it isn't much good in terms of practical tips and guidance.
