One side is brighter than the other, so you can position the less bright side facing inward. Unfortunately, you can see the reflection of the bright side in the glass, so that really isn’t a bonus. I love the timer feature, which is super easy. I love that they are cordless but they take 4 AA batteries each, so if you have a lot of windows, as I do, that can add up. The lights are led, so I don’t think they drain as much power as incandescent bulbs. I’ve only had them up for two weeks, so I don’t know how long the batteries will last, as of yet. My only other complaint is the light is very white,(almost fluorescent). I prefer the warmer glow of older Christmas lights...but that’s just me. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ finally a bright battery operated candle *by B***M on Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2018* I have only had these candles for a few days, but so far I am very happy with them. I have had a few different battery operated candles for two windows in my foyer that have no outlets. They have either run through batteries too fast because they were incandescent, or they were just too dim. This particular model is very nice, clear bright white (not blue at all) and it has one side that is MUCH brighter than the other. I aim the brighter side out to the street. The dimmer side is still very bright, but not blinding. An additional plus is the built in timer--6 hours on, 18 hours off. No remote, it just turns itself on and off. I may switch all of my window candles to this model--I just need to see how long the batteries last. I used Duracell Quantum. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Almost as bright as the old plug in candles *by E***P on Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2018* I've purchased battery operated window candles in the past, even expensive ones, and ended up throwing them out because they were very dim and looked horrible. These, however, are very bright. I'd say that they are almost as bright as the plug in window candle lights without the cord. And the fact that they are directional, (i.e. bright towards the window to the outside, but, not as bright towards the room) is an added bonus. The timer works great, they all go on at roughly the same time every night and off 6 hours later. You can just set and forget them. I don't know how long the batteries last yet, but I've had them about 2 weeks and they are as bright as the first day. Highly recommended. The downside is that they are a little expensive.
