They received my review, immediately reached out to me, and replaced the original cables with updated versions despite the order being many months old.As the Seller clearly articulates, these are mono-only cables. Despite having a stereo headphone plug (larger one; has a tip, ring and base), that 'ring' is not connected.More importantly, the replacement (newer) cables I received are wired exactly the same as the ones I received originally. The important distinction is the mic connections. On all my headsets, the mic connection (ring and base) are wired independent of the ground shield of the cable; they are direct connections (red and white wires) to an impedance matcher in the headset. The cable ground shield is hard-wired to the audio (larger) plug base. These cables from Ancable, like the originals, have the mic plug base hard-wired to the cable shield and to the blue wire. Might not make a difference if your plugs are in a metal plate, so both the plug bases are tied by the mounting. However, if your headset has discrete wires to an impedance matching transformer that require the ground to be floating, it might matter.The new ones do have the mic-tip (which is the mic key) available into the headset (yellow wire) so if your headset has a separate push-to-talk/mic key (like some NASCAR headsets and military versions), these might be an option for you.Cables are well made. Seller is top-notch. Just know what you are getting via the wiring.ORIGINAL REVIEW:First, the cables appear to be well made. The appearance, though, is a bit deceptive. Let me explain...Aviation headsets come in two general types (mono and stereo) either with or without active noise cancelling. These cables appear to be for a passive noise cancelling, STEREO headset since the larger audio plug is a three-conductor stereo 1/4-in plug. Checking all three of my stereo headsets, all from different manufacturers, the plugs were wired:Mic Tip (push-to-talk) - No Connection (yellow wire/snipped)Mic Ring (mic audio) - red wire to mic boom "+"Mic plug base ring - white wire to mic boom "-"Mic cable shield (my cord covers had crumbled, so I could check) - connected to both the audio shieldAudio plug base ring - tied/shorted to the shielding and connected to headset speaker grounds (both sides)Audio plug tip (Left audio) - boom-side main volume potentiometer then to left/boom-side speaker "+"Audio ring (Right audio) - to the volume/mono-stereo potentiometer switch, right earphone, then to right speaker "+" SO...how are these replacement sets wired?Mic tip - snipped yellow wireMic ring - red wireMic plug base ring - shorted to the shielding (silver stranded) and the blue wireAudio tip - white wireAudio ring - No Connection (not even to any wire coming out of the actual plug...I checked)Audio plug base ring - GreenNOTE, then...1) they cannot do stereo audio since the audio ring is not connected. 2) The colors do not match the existing wires (no surprise) so you need to confirm which wire goes where. 3) Most important, the mic ground is tied to ground/shielding versus the audio plug ground, which is a separate wire. That probably isn't a big deal if both of your plugs are in a metal panel, which would ground both base rings. Still, if your mic doesn't work after you install this cable, check to make sure your setup does not want the mic ground kept separate from the shielding/panel ground.AND check which wire goes where BEFORE you start; don't just match up colors as that probably will not work.I wound up using one of the four I bought to fix my sole mono headset and canibalized one to fix a stereo set by using the original plugs and resoldering the wire. The other two will have to be donated/sold as I'm way past the return limit.
