**Q: how powerfull is the motor**
A: There is a small blade rotary blender (similar to what you have in a hand blender). It is used only for chopping up the contents of your soup. It is not an agitator and only operates for a short time once the food is cooked. The motor that drives it is quite adequate for the task. If there was a motorised agitator at the bottom of the soup maker it would be perfect.

**Q: Can you cook lentils split peas and barley with the vegtables**
A: I cook lentils with carrot and onion and ham stock - lovely soup

**Q: how do i clean off the burnt food that have stuck to to bottom**
A: Hi Jennifer.Use Fairy liquid.A few drops in the maker .Add baking soda then hot water,leave to simmer in pot for a few mins,rinse and then add more baking soda and clean with a brush and double sided sponge should come up great.If it is too burnt repeat

**Q: can you use lentil and pearl barley**
A: I have used pearl barley with no problem just don't use too many..
