If you're running an engine that is a 2000+ model year, you'll really need to get synthetic oil with the synthetic filter which this is not. It will reduce emissions, increase fuel mileage and the total miles on the powerplant (engine) will close to double. Synthetic does not have a tendency to "burn" in the crankcase. Conventional does and that's why you get crude build up in the crankcase. I have a Master's in Automotive Engineering from Colorado and I had to do a dissertation on lubricating oils. Synthetic oils were just plain better in every way.
