## Description

Product Description Final Fantasy X is the first title in this landmark RPG series to be released for the PlayStation 2. The main characters are Tidus, a star of blitzball (a hugely popular sport in the Final Fantasy universe) and Yuna, who has learned the art of summoning and controlling aeons, powerful spirits of yore. These two people of different backgrounds must work together as they journey through the world of Spira. This instalment of Final Fantasy has a distinctly Asian influence, bringing a fresh feel to the characters, music, settings, and story. Features include voice-overs for the first time in the series (utilising the "Facial Motion System"), high polygon, motion-captured player characters designed by Tetusya Nomura, and a camera that automatically adjusts its perspective to correspond with the movements of the characters, a feature now possible due to the title now being largely polygonal. desertcart.co.uk Review Each instalment of the Final Fantasy series has featured strong storytelling, characterisation, strategic combat, fun mini-games and hours upon hours of captivating gameplay, and the 10th title in the series is no exception. This is the first time Final Fantasy has appeared on the PlayStation 2, and it takes full advantage of the console's increased technical capabilities. The story this time concerns Tidus, a blond-haired star of a sport called Blitzball. While he is playing in a match, Tidus' city is attacked by an evil force called Sin, and everything is destroyed save Tidus and his guardian Auran. The adventure begins as they are somehow transported to another world. From here on, it's standard Final Fantasy gameplay: fight battles, manage experience points, learn new powers and recruit a motley crew of non-playing characters to join your quest. The graphics, however, take things to a new level. They are amazing not only for their realism, but also for their imaginative art and design. The world these heroes inhabit is breathtakingly beautiful, flowing and full of inventive surprises. You haven't lived until you've surfed cables high in the air, or ridden a graceful airship through the clouds. There are stunning effects on display when you use magic in combat, summoning gigantic monsters, fire-columns and more to devastate your foes. One new element is voice acting. The innovation yields predictably mixed results: it's wonderful to have spoken dialogue rather than subtitles, but as with most games translated from Japanese, the acting is mediocre and sometimes unintentionally hilarious. Still, the game's new graphics engine and solid gameplay are sure to please fans of the series waiting to see what Square has in store for them. While Final Fantasy X doesn't offer much innovation, it also doesn't disappoint. And fortunately, with Final Fantasy XI already in development, the title is still a misnomer. --Andrew S Bub P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Manufacturer's Description Final Fantasy X immerses the player into the world of Spira, a mythical land where technology has been shunned in favour of the inhabitants' main obsessions, the Yevon faith and Blitzball (an underwater fusion of water polo and martial arts). Spira is under constant threat from a mysterious evil entity known as "Sin". This sinister force periodically returns to cause havoc and devastation causing utter panic and terror for Spira's inhabitants. Only the "last Summoning" (a power only possessed by Summoners) can ultimately defeat Sin. Throughout Final Fantasy X, you must control the actions of multiple characters whose destinies are inextricably linked. The lead character Tidus (the star player of the Zanark and Abes Blitzball team) is sucked into the Sin entity when it attacks Zanarkand during a major Blitzball game, and the epic tale begins... Review: A great game from a great franchise - Final Fantasy X as most other Final Fantasy games (if not all) is great fun. It keeps up with the FF tradition of having a complex and deep story with dynamic characters, whilst at the same time having a great gameplay. This is the first FF game if I am not mistaken that had voice actors and so now you get to hear the characters talk. The story is set in Spira, a magical world where a God-like creature named Sin appears every now and then and causes destruction. The inhabitants of the land eventually came up with a way to temporarily defeat Sin. And that is the summoners. The summoners travel through the lands, with their guardians, praying at the temples so that the legendary aeons (summons) would lend help in defeating Sin. Tidus is a youth who came into contact with Sin by accident during one of his blitzball games (a popular sport in Spira) and gets mysteriously transported to a place he doesn't know, only to find out that his home city was destroyed thousands of years ago. He joins summoner Yuna, who is a daughter of a great summoner Braska, who defeated Sin 10 years ago, along with her guardians. Sin is back once again, and now it is up to them to stand up to it. The game starts off rather slow, with a lot more cutscenes as opposed to action, but it eventually picks up and becomes a great deal of fun. Closer to the end of the game the player gets access to the airship and a chance to revisit the places on the world map and to complete an enormous variety of sidequests and other challenges, such as blitzball tournaments, optional aeons, chocobo racing and monster arena, getting to fight some of the most powerful monsters out there. I would highly recommend FFX to hardcore Final Fantasy fans, as well as to those who are only starting to find interest in this amazing franchise.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it say square soft or square Enix on the game?**
A: if you look at the cover it says sqauresoft and it's the same in the game

**Q: Is this the platinum or original version?**
A: Hi
As the picture shows the original version this is what should be listed and sold on this page.
There should be a page for listing the platinum equivalent.
I can confirm that the version that I have for sale is the original version and not the platinum one.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ not one of my favourite but still good playing
*by T***E on 10 June 2013*

This review are intent to people who did not bought a PS2 at all and skipped that game or people who want have a go at what we call now retro game. Bought it recently (1/06/2013) cause it was he only game with final fantasy 10-2 and 12 I did not play. Additonally I wanted to know more about Tidus and Jetch's background after I played Final Fantasy Dissidia. I did not want the HD remix cause I think like many HD remix you pay more money for less content. The graphic are quite good and if you play like me on a PS3 with a 32" LCD TV (LED backlight), it is not bad at all. OK here more details of the game if you have not play it yet and decided if it would be OK. Then here some thoughts: - If like me you want less technology and more medieval environment then FF 10 is in the middle of it. - It is the first game where the original director/producer Hironobu Sakaguchi did not have much input on the game despite being credited as executive producer. The result of it is an Asia ancient style environment - The story is good (here the input of Hironobu) and the characters are loveable. - The game is way better than Final Fantasy 13 (how can't you not buy it). OK it's an old game but just ask yourself. Why Sony and Square-Enix re-releasing an HD version of this game (except for the obvious reason they want more money for little risk)? By the way my favourite Final Fantasy (main series) is Final Fantasy 6.
