I've just tried tilting my iPad with pen attached and it falls off - so not a secure storage solution. **Q: Is the case separated from the Smart Cover? Are these 2 separate pieces?** A: This case is only one piece which contains a case for the back and a cover to protect the front screen. **Q: Just wondering there is a slit for the top speakers on the iPad Pro (2017) as I can’t see anything in the pictures?** A: If by top, you mean either of the shorter sides, then yes there is. It’s also a great case. **Q: Can i use the apple smart keyboard without having to remove this case?** A: It's a great case, however, the hard shell rear of the case and the front part covering the screen join at the point where the Apple keyboard connects.I really like the rear panel into which the iPad 10.5" clips securely, allowing access to all parts of the iPad Pro 10.5 buttons, camera, microphones, speakers and headset socket. The Apple keyboard options seem to focus on purely the screen protection.I intend on using a scalpel to remove the front cover from the rear shell and profile the shell to enable the Apple keyboard to be used.
