One of my fav's is Shallow Chorus on the Whammy side and Octave Up on the Drop Tune side which gives one of the best 12 String Guitar effects on any pedal I have used. Also there is a momentary switch, which momentarily turns the Drop Tune effect on or off to create hammer-on or pull-off style shifting effects. The Dive Bomb feature is brill. See Jimmy Page use it (older version) on the new Led Zeppelin DVD, 'Celebration Day' on the track - Nobody's Fault But Mine, he also uses the Whammy on 'Trampled Underfoot', but the new pedal is capable of so much more. It has a chorus effect that sounds nice. The drop tune feature is easy to use and saves having to change guitars to play one song in drop tune. The pitch shifting is fun and easy to use. This is a great item and it comes with 3 different power supply adapters so I could plug it in and play it as I live in Australia. This switches from the polyphonic shifting used on this and the WhammyV to the old algorithm, which is super glitchy on chords [and that's why it's fun]. If you want that feature you'll need a WhammyV or an early Whammy. Otherwise get this, it's built like a tank, tracks REALLY fast, and doesn't really get artificial sounding until 7 tones up-shifting or higher. **Q: Does it work on bass ? I need to detune from e to e flat ?** A: The short answer is YES (as previously advised): It does work on bass, so there's no need to detune. In fact, as a bass player, I've had the "Drop" down to C standard and the rest of the band didn't even notice. HOWEVER, I tend to find that this works best if you have a little grit on your sound. If your sound is clean and pristine, the quality of the "drop" isn't as good as the original (although I concede that this is a matter of opinion). You also need to pay attention to where the pedal is placed in relation to other pedals if this applies. If so, I find it works best in an effects chain which starts with a buffered tuner (e.g., a Boss), after which the "Drop" is placed second prior to any other processing (although this is not a hard and fast rule; IMHO, you should experiment). **Q: What power supply should I get for this pedal?** A: 9v **Q: I want to buy this for my grandson. I haven't a clue about these things.
